Itico is the creation of Will Hascall for an early role-playing game in late 1994. Itico then became the main character in “Tigers in the Mists” which evolved from a desire to write a story from the perspective of a cat. Itico’s story was the second attempt, since the first, written for a creative writing course in 1994, was a complete and utter failure.
Itico has become Will’s main digital persona especially since moving to Second Life, which is where the “Spectre” comes from because at the time the platform required set last names for avatars in 2005.
Itico is a Second Life Mentor and enjoys helping people learn the, sometimes complicated, Second Life platform. He is also involved in the Virtual World Education Consortium, Nonprofit Commons and the Virtual Ability disability support group where he helps with VAI’s two conferences that are held each year, International Disability Rights Affirmation Conference and the Mental Health Symposium. Itico also runs the Disability Discussion Seminar’s group which aims to educate people on all aspects of living with a disabilities.
